The location of the hotel was absolutely serene and perfect for a romantic escape. The private beach and rowboats/kayaks provided us with the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful lake and relax in peace. Additionally, the historical building and its fascinating history added a unique charm to our stay. We also appreciated the variety of outdoor spaces, such as the porches and fire pit, where we could cozy up and enjoy each other's company.
One downside was the poor cell service and limited wifi, which made it difficult to stay connected. Additionally, the lack of food and drink services on site was a disappointment, especially since the bar and restaurant were not open yet.

As adults, we loved the spacious and clean rooms with a beautiful view of Lake Trout. The daily muffins, fruit, and coffee at the small bar were a nice touch. The availability of kayaks and row boats allowed us to enjoy the lake. The community fire pit was a great spot to relax in the evenings. The hosts were friendly, accommodating, and even helped us when our car broke down. We appreciated their assistance and the ability to extend our stay. The location was convenient for day trips to Curly Lewis Scenic Highway and Sault Soo Locks.

As a satisfied hotel guest at Birch Lodge, I want to highlight the positive aspects of my stay. I stayed at the Lodge for two nights during my trip to Tahquamenon Falls and Mackinac Island. The location was perfect, with beautiful views of the lake and a peaceful wooded setting. The proximity to the trolley that took me to the boat for the falls was convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful, providing great tips for places to visit. The renovated interior with old world charm, comfortable room with a luxurious bathroom, and common areas for relaxation added to the overall delightful experience. The homemade muffins in the morning were a delicious treat.

The room we stayed in was spacious and beautifully decorated, giving it a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. We were delighted to find a fridge stocked with complimentary water bottles, soda, and snacks, which added a nice touch to our stay. The outside areas were inviting, with plenty of porch swings and rocking chairs where we could unwind and enjoy the stunning lake view. The highlight of our trip was being able to use the free rowboat and canoe to explore the lake. The towels and toilet paper provided were of premium quality, making us feel pampered throughout our stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed. Despite the remote location and limited cell service, it was refreshing to disconnect from technology and truly relax in the peaceful surroundings. We highly recommend Historic Birch Lodge And Motel for a serene and rejuvenating getaway.
Although our stay at Historic Birch Lodge And Motel was outstanding, we did encounter a few minor inconveniences. The lack of a microwave in the rooms made it challenging to get coffee or tea without access to a kitchen.
